Founded by Ross Enamait, RossTraining.com is dedicated to excellence and innovations in high performance conditioning and strength development. My goal with this site is to provide a content rich resource designed to assist you in the pursuit of your own unique goals.
As a trainer and coach, I run my offline business training real athletes with unique needs. What works for one athlete may be entirely different from what works for another. Athletes are not robots or machines. Each athlete has a unique engine with unique needs.
As I have stated before (click here for full article):
"Each athlete deserves to be evaluated as a unique individual. There is no single movement or group of movements that will work for all. Instead, the training menu must be created specifically for the individual. To suggest that there is only one right way signifies both ignorance and arrogance."
The text above applies to all athletes. Training programs are created to assist unique athletes with unique needs. A powerlifter has different needs than a 400 meter sprinter, just as a boxer has different needs than a football player. No single system can satisfy the unique requirements of unique athletes. Even athletes from the same sport will often engage in different methods. For example, two boxers may possess entirely different styles and temperaments, thus require entirely different approaches to training.
What To Expect
Within the site, you will find a regularly updated blog, an open forum with thousands of members, along with several articles and videos. You'll also find resources that are regularly updated by the community as a whole. For example, the Homemade Equipment archive within the forum has already received several hundred thousand visitors from around the world.
Lead By Example
I consider it imperative that we all practice what we preach. This simple way of life is apparent throughout this site. It is my goal to instill credibility back to an industry that has been tarnished by false promises and bogus contraptions. I am all for simplicity in terms of training, modalities, and programming. I do not just write about these topics however. My time is spent offline in the gym with real athletes, experimenting with various protocols, and constantly researching new ideas and methodologies.
Participate and Interact
As a young athlete, I was fortunate to work with several influential trainers and mentors. Now as a husband and father in my 30's, I train athletes for a living. I'd never be where I am today without the help of those referenced in the link above. I was fortunate to be surrounded by top level athletes and trainers. Looking back, I realize how lucky I was to be around these individuals. It is my hope that I can serve a similar role to the athletes that I train. I also realize however that the world is much larger than my small gym. I therefore hope to serve as a positive influence and educator to those who come across this site.
In summary, I welcome your questions and encourage you to participate within the forum. The value of this site is largely a result of the interactive community that has developed over the years. It is my hope that we can all continue to learn, evolve, and improve together.
