What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish?

The only ab work i do is this mini workout i do at the end of my main one, about 4 times a week. it helped me gain a six pack as part of a varied workout (to see abs you need low bodyfat %) if you dont you need to lower it thru conditioning and a clean diet

do fast non stop

sit ups for 30 seconds
crunches for 30 seconds
leg raise 30 seconds
elbows to alternate knees (aka. bicycle) 30 seconds
raise legs so vertical and touch toes (toe touch's) 30 secs
back to sit ups for another 30 seconds
crunches again for 30

this lasts 3 mins and a half and I do it 4 times with 1 minute rest in between each round

after completing four rounds do a plank for maximum amount of time possible

This may not be advanced enough for some but its an alright circuit and has helped me toughen up my abs along with my other exercises

that is a nice mini circuit. I am like you. I just do a little circuit at the end of my workouts.

I don't understand what this means ... what are you trying to accomplish, in what way isn't it working for you, and what are you doing now? I can't imagine how you think you can get meaningful help without at least telling us those things.

Most of my important core work is done during my workout itself: snatches, squats, deadlifts, various overhead presses while standing, turkish getups, etc. I think these work my core as much as any core-focused workout.

For my core-focused work, ab wheel, saxon side bends, russian twists, L-sits, progressions towards front levers, etc.

I'm happy with what that's all getting me -- balanced, all-over core strength and stability for heavy strength and power movements. Without knowing what you're trying to accomplish, can't tell you if it's right for you.

If you want to see your abs, you have to lose body fat. If it's core strength you're after, Infinite Intensity has lots of great core circuits. You'll find more exercises here:

And this is a goldmine:

http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=387889

I'm not the best at putting together workouts, but I'll show what I'd do:

1. Do a circuit where you go from abs to obliques to lower back to rotation, or something like that.

2. Or you split it up throughout the week so you're doing a different core exercise at the end of each strength workout. So ab wheel rollouts on Monday, side bends on Wednesday, back extensions on Friday, etc.

Make sure you don't neglect the lower back.

II and NG contain tremendous core strength information. Consider buying one or both of the books, it will help you take things to the next level.

In addition to direct core work listed above, compound lifts will also help develop that area. Squats, Over-Head Squats etc will do good things for your core.
