I finally lugged all the rope home yesterday. I never realized how heavy and how much space 1000' for 3" rope takes up. The owner had tied in into one huge bundle. Four of us could not lift it onto the truck. We had to untie it and feed it into the truck. It easily weighs over 1000 lbs. My two-car garage is now a one-car garage. I tried to cut a small piece just to see how much a foot weighs. Doing so was a workout in itself. I could not get through it with any knife so I ended up using a saw and even that was difficult. I decided to purchase a hot wire rope cutter. Not only will it easily cut the rope but it will also seal the ends at the same time

I will post some photos in a couple of days. I'm going out of town during the Thanksgiving holiday. I've already been in touch with Ross. I will send him some rope and hopefully he will post some comments about it. This rope is really big and perhaps he will find it just too unmanageable.

I would be interested in a few feet myself if you end up selling some off. Keep us posted.

This the is first time I've tried posting photos. Hope it works.
The photos show a 500' section of the rope, a close up, and a comparision with three other ropes (1.25", 1.5" and 2.0"). You get an idea how thick the 3" rope is.

I've been out of town for a few weeks. I will return home next weekend and will then begin to cut up and distribute the rope. Sorry for the delay.
